General
Who Is Tarot for?
The tarot is for everyone. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by, or have the expressed permission of an adult.
Should I book a remote session, or is in-person better?
There is no difference in the quality of a session that takes place in-person vs. remotely. Wherever you feel the most comfortable is best.
If we meet in-person, you will be able to choose between two decks and you will shuffle the cards yourself. If we meet over Zoom, you'll have the option of recording your session and saving it to the cloud. You're welcome to bring a recording device to an in-person session if you'd like to.
If you do book a remote session, please ensure you have a quiet space where we will not be disturbed.
I cannot guarantee that technology will work seamlessly during our session. I will do my best to make adjustments if issues arise (for example, issues with video sessions would mean moving the session to the phone).
What length session should I book?
Generally, I recommend the 1-hour 'Growth' reading, especially if you've never had a reading before. I want to be respectful of both your time and budget, while also addressing as much of your current situation as possible. I block my time so that if you want to extend your session, I can usually accommodate you. If we do extend your session you will be responsible for the balance at the conclusion. It's also happened that I have finished a session in a shorter amount of time than booked, in which case you will only be responsible to pay for that shorter period.
Do I need to do anything before a reading?
No special preparation is required, though I recommend that you drink plenty of water before and after. I also encourage my clients to support their nervous system with fruit.
If I book a second reading and different cards come up, can it contradict the first reading?
Different readers have different styles, so I can only speak to my own work.I always read for the present moment, and every moment is inherently unique, so the guidance changes as you do. There is also the math of it. With 78 cards, upright and reversed, I have never pulled the same spread twice. When people read for themselves, though, they often find one card that keeps showing up to get their attention. What does not change is the message underneath. Your happiness is your soul's purpose, and that part of my counsel will never contradict itself. There will never be a card that tells you to go back to sacrifice and struggle. What changes is the shape of how love and support come through. One reading might be about release, surrender, and healing. If we meet again a few months later, the cards might be more about expansion. Both are true. Whatever is happening in the present is where I go with the cards and my interpretation. And it is my interpretation. Another reader may say it differently and still point you the same direction. When I read at parties with my colleague Heather, I often hear that the two of us gave someone basically the same advice from two different perspectives.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! You can purchase a gift card here.
What level of experience do your students have?
I am happy to teach tarot to anyone with any level of experience. Total beginners to other professionals have learned from me. All my individual teachings begin with a call so I can learn where you are in your practice and where you'd like to go. The sylabus will be tailored to you specifically.
How does tarot at a party actually work?
The only setup required is a table and chairs in an area with some audio privacy. Guests get a short individual reading, just enough time for a memorable and supportive interaction. No one ever needs to tell me anything or ask me any specific questions. This is especially useful in party settings where people come to have fun, and producing a specific question may feel like pressure.
What if some of my guests are nervous about tarot?
That is normal, and it usually does not last. I do not do fortune telling and I do not predict the future, so there is nothing to brace for. The Divine has your back, and I read toward that. What usually happens is that the nervous ones hang back and watch. Then they see a few people come away smiling, and they quietly get in line. By the end of the night they are often the ones who are the most grateful to have participated.
Is tarot appropriate for a work event?
Absolutely! I read at many company parties, offsites, and holiday gatherings. I do not tell fortunes and I do not predict the future. Every reading is about the present moment, which means nothing lands on anyone that they have to carry back to their desk on Monday. Readings happen one at a time, so nobody is put on the spot in front of their colleagues.
What size Tarot party can you handle?
Almost any size. For a smaller gathering I work on my own. For a bigger party I bring a second reader, so the line stays short and nobody spends the night waiting for a turn. Tell me your guest count and how long you want readings running, and I will tell you what I would recommend.
How much does it cost to hire a tarot reader for a party?
It depends on three things: how long you want me there, how many guests you are hoping I can read for, and where the event is. Tell me those and I will send you a quote. There is no charge for asking and no obligation.
How do I pay?
For individual sessions, your credit card will be authorized for the full service amount at the time of booking. You will not be charged until the conclusion of our session. At that time you will have the option to pay all or part of your session via cash, CashApp, Venmo, or credit card.Gratuities are always welcome.
What if I need to reschedule?
Rescheduling is easy and there is no charge, as long as you let me know at least 24 hours before your appointment. Inside that window a reschedule is treated the same as a cancellation, and the full session fee is charged to the card on file.
What is your cancelation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session, and there is no charge for either as long as I hear from you in time. Cancellations, reschedules, and missed appointments inside 24 hours are charged the full session fee to the card on file.
Are readings refundable?
Completed sessions are non-refundable, and course and workshop fees are non-refundable once purchased. If something about your session did not sit right, please reach out. I would rather hear from you directly.
